Leading 21st Century Schools: Engage with Asia (L21CS) is a successful leadership professional learning program for principals and school leaders. The program aims to support the development of Asia literate curriculum that prepares students for future lives and careers increasingly dominated by Asia's economic growth and Australia’s engagement in the Asian region.

Government, independent and Catholic primary and secondary school leaders from across Australia have participated since 2008, swelling the L21CS alumni to over 360.

The 3-staged program provides resources and strategies to begin a change process to integrate or strengthen Asian languages and cultures into school policy and curriculum. It comprises:

  • Stage 1: Initial one-day professional learning program
  • Stage 2: School-based implementation of action plans supported by network meetings
  • Stage 3: Final sharing practice sessions for reporting back on achievements

On these pages you will find comprehensive resources, detailed case studies and brief snapshots from previous rounds, as well as reports of high-profile events to assist school change.
