The Leading 21st Century Schools: Engage with Asia (L21CS) Project was developed by the AEF in collaboration with peak principals associations including Principals Australia, APPA, ASPA, CaSPA and AHISA. It is a program designed to bring create a cohort of forward thinking Asia-literate schools and students.

![]() | The National Statement for Engaging Young Australians with Asia in Australian Schools is a policy statement approved by the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) in 2005. The Statement has informed The Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians (2008) that articulates the significant need for all Australians to be Asia-literate. |

Four Tool Kit Modules assist schools to incorporate studies of Asia within their curriculum. They can be used consecutively depending on the school’s current level of Asia engagement and include information on and proformas for conducting a school audit.
