bio

Ta-Yan was born in Malaysia, went to universities in Japan, Germany, USA before migrating to Australia in 1982. Ta-Yan joined the CSIRO International Office in 1985. In 2010 he received the CSIRO Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the organisation and for his coordination of cooperative projects between science research agencies in China, Japan, Malaysia and other countries. Ta-Yan is currently an honorary fellow at CSIRO Agriculture, mentoring students from overseas.
