bio

Melissa works at the Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne as Personal Assistant to the Consul-General. For 6 years, she worked at the Consulate as the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme Coordinator & Cultural Officer, coordinating all aspects of the JET Programme and promoting Japanese language and culture through cultural seminars, speech writing and facilitating events. Melissa has spent seven years in total in Japan: two years as a student, three years working as a translator at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan and two years working for a Japanese local government office. She is very passionate about Asia literacy and the many doors it can open both personally and professionally.
